General information on data generated by OHAUS products
In accordance with the EU Data Act, the following overview provides common information about OHAUS portfolio, although the applicability for specific products may vary. For detailed information about a specific connected product or related service, please contact your local partner or refer to the product-specific documentation.
1. Product data overview
1.1. Data type
Based on the application context, OHAUS products may generate:
- live measurement data and metadata as physical quantities including magnitude and unit, whether fundamental (e.g. mass) or derived (e.g. volume), as well
as calculated (e.g. pH), operating temperature, ambient conditions, device and battery or power supply status, etc.
- associated metadata (e.g. timestamp of each reading, calibration offset value, measurement resolution, firmware version number)
- OHAUS products in scope of the Data Act may process limited personal data (e.g. operator ID or electronic identifiers) when required for secure use, access control,
traceability, or regulatory compliance. All personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Data is processed securely, for defined
purposes, and only retained as necessary. For more detailed information on the types of data collected, legal basis, retention, and your rights, please refer to our full
Privacy Notice at:

1.2. Data formats may vary but commonly include:
- CSV files, XML, JSON, or
- proprietary formats compatible with OHAUS software solutions.
1.3. Estimated data volume
Depending on application and measurement frequency, a single device may generate from few megabytes up to several gigabytes of data per day.
2. Real-time and continuous generation of data.
Most OHAUS products are designed to generate live measurement data continuously and in real time.
3. Data storage location and retention
Live measurement data and associated meta data generated by OHAUS products might be stored either locally on the device or on remote servers, depending on the product and configuration. The choice between local and remote storage typically depends on the application requirements, network infrastructure, and integration with
enterprise (data) systems. Depending on the product type, devices may either have memories for temporary or permanent data retention or transmit data in real time.
4. Access, retrieval and erasure of data
Users can access, retrieve, and, if relevant and permissible, erase data generated by OHAUS products through various means depending on the specific device and its data
management capabilities. Typically, access and retrieval can be performed via the device's user interface, connected software applications, or through integration with
external data management systems or cloud platforms. Erasure or data deletion functionalities, if available, are generally managed via device settings or software tools
provided by OHAUS. Based on the application context, erasure or data deletion might not be allowed due to regulatory requirements
